South of its Bas-Rhin sibling, Haut-Rhin is postcard Alsace: vine-clad hills, flower-decked villages, and the Vosges peaks. Colmar—all canals, cobbles, and colourful façades—is the jewel, while Mulhouse adds museums and industrial chic. The wine-route villages of Riquewihr, Eguisheim, and Kaysersberg brim with winstubs and geraniums. Skiers head to Le Markstein and La Bresse; walkers love the Route des Crêtes.
